Jake was born into a music-obsessed family in Spokane, Washington. From the time he could walk, his family introduced him to a diversity of genres and artists. As much as he learned to talk, he learned to sing and discovered his own powerful voice. By the age of five he was playing piano, singing and dancing. By second grade, Jake auditioned for his first production.
Teenage Jake developed his craft. By age sixteen, he was a professional performer in musicals, events, and Jake LIVE! shows that featured his first compositions. To immerse himself in the music and entertainment industry, Jake headed to LA for summer production internships. The day after his high school graduation, he said goodbye to Spokane and hello to LA.
In his new setting, Jake roared at high-speed innovation. To expose his developing sonic flair, he recorded the EP Me And The Music in February 2008 featuring the single “Furious”. Though the single was available on MySpace, Jake chose not to release the EP. Changing course, he began collaborating on new works with an influential producer.
Jake’s voice is energetic and power-filled. Above a bridge of sophisticated keyboards and deep bass lines, Jake’s vibrancy meshes within the seams of tight-knit production. “My music is honest, vulnerable and very forward,” he explains.
Jake’s music encompasses ‘spaces.’ “As an Artist, I continually grow and morph,” he says, “We all have countless layers and right now my records are about the layers I’ve felt and experienced.” His music celebrates his sources. He nurtures his artistry knowing this will influence future records.
Jake’s stage performance is unprecedented as his vocal abilities are breathtaking and his ever-so unique charisma is astounding. “I was raised on stage, so literally - it's my home!” he continues, “It’s the one place I feel one-hundred percent comfortable and the number one place I can be open about anything without any reservations.” “I do throw down!” Jake blasts and after witnessing him ‘at home’, that is not a statement. It’s the truth.”
