Born from the embers of local bands Apollion, 11th Hour, 2Ball Tom and The Evangelists, Hybris is a colossus of some of the best and most aspiring young talent int the North West of Ireland. Having humble beginnings less than 6 months ago, Hybris have worked their way rapidly through the ranks of the Metal community in their hometown of Derry, starting out playing small venues in rural community centres but soon catapulting into more prestigious gigs such as the De La Croix and Fibber Magee's in Dublin, the Capital. They have played alongside English thrashers Sworn Amongst and are dated to play with Metal Blade Record's Malefice in early 2009, in conjuction with Flipside promotion agency. Describing the stylistic qualities of Hybris it a daunting task, as it ranges from epic power metal harmonies, through thrash riffing, and right to the death metal spectrum, with a tip of the hat to all of the crew's individual influences. The driving double kick coupled with the slap happy bass and gutteral vocals packs a truely brutal sound for all who dare listen, whilst the soaring guitar melodies and catchy choruses allow for appreciation from all audiences.
