H-TWENTY

Biography There can be a lot of pressure when you’re destined to be the best at what you do. This is the pressure H-TWENTY carries on his back with every verse written, and every song made. The rap game is a definite challenge that H20 is ready to take over and conquer. With the rap game beginning to be saturated with garbage, the talented rapper you will soon know as H20 emerged.

Born Habib Ipaye, the 22 year old rapper isn’t content with being a city, regional, or national artist. He will not stop until the world knows him as H20. “I want to be one of the best to ever do it, so I’m working at getting better everyday” he says, “people need my music.” He feels as a rapper/entertainer he will have the opportunity to accomplish his primary goal, which is changing lives.

H20 is the youngest of 3 boys, and has strong ties to his African roots being that both of his parents are from Nigeria. Born in Knoxville, Tennessee music has always been a major influence in the rappers life. As a student at the University of Tennessee Chattanooga, H20 majored in Business. Then after 3 years in college, 20 decided to devote his spare time to perfecting his craft. “The years I attended college were the best years of my life, but I’m an over-doer, I can’t sit back and not get involved when I know there’s so much I can contribute to this industry”. On the eve of 2007, H20 made it his resolution to begin writing songs, and to make the world know his name. He says “I had always been able to write a decent paper, so I figured writing about what was real and cool to me couldn’t be that hard.”

The song “Dirty South Anthem” is a true representation of what the south has not only overcome, but stands for. The good, the bad as well as the ugly are depicted in this song. “Dirty South Anthem” takes the listener on a ride through the streets of the place H20 calls home. This song represents HIP HOP in its truest essence while representing the south to the core. “I’m here to represent the Dirty South and get rid of any misconceptions people might have about the music we make” he says with conviction.

H20 has set out to raise the bar in the rap game. His dept and versatility in the music industry remains unprecedented. “I feel no one person is the same all the time, so I can’t figure out why all these rappers are acting like they’re pimps, gangsters, drug dealers, or socially conscience all the time” he says. He makes music to represent every side of him as an artist, and isn’t concerned with establishing gimmicks. He feels confident he will sign a major deal in the not too distant future. “If the labels want a real artist that can move some units, not just get on the radio and flop, Holla at me” he says with sincerity. With the lyrical prowess of the best to come before him, and the ability to craft major hits seamlessly; H20 is Destined for Greatness.
