I just got this EMail from Paramount Contest something or other about a Summertime Song & lyric contest. I was kind of excited about it until I saw the requirements for joining the contest was a $20.00 entry fee.

!!! LAUGH OUT LOUD !!!

So I wrote them back and told them why would I want to pay $20.00 to enter a contest that I know I probably would not win when I can go to OURSTAGE.COM and get it all for free? Exposure, Friends, Fans and even Contests … FOR FREE!!!

It also said in their message they were looking hard to find new talent and wrote up a whole story about that being the reason for their opening the Summertime Song & Lyric Contest. So I laughed again and told them that they can find all the best Independent Music & Lyrics at OURSTAGE.COM - and that they were not looking hard enough.

I’ve still yet to hear a response from them, you can be sure I will post it in my blog… But I’ve no problems opening this can of worms and start racking up points for OURSTAGE.COM. Because quite simply; even though I have my discouraging times with my profile, my music, etc… I would still rather be at OURSTAGE.COM because it has become my Home away from Home.

People have MYSPACE … FaceBook … etc…

I wonder if you all feel the same way I do about OurStage. Even though OurStage has its’ limitations, kinks and bugs—It is by far the best place to go for all things you could need regarding Music & Lyrics … even Videos.

So there you have it… The Defense of OurStage.

If anyone comes up to you and tries to sell you some horse about other music promotion websites and other contests, tell’em straight out…

OURSTAGE.COM—My Home away from Home!

I don’t have my stable PC yet but I managed to pull this new creation out of the corners of my laptop – not bad for a laptop I think. But took me 3 hours to render to MP3 Format … lol.

My Newest Creation – Deep Down Please give it a listen, its only 5 minutes the whole track I would like to hear some opinions on.

Its’ meant to only be a beat track with some orchestral instruments and some electronic chords – so it might fall more towards Orchestral Electro-Pop Ambient … lol… what a Genre.

My Music PC just crashed and it will be quite sometime before I can get it back up and running unless I win the Music Grand Finals in June lol.

I have my laptop but it is not capable of supporting all those music\audio software i use to make my creations. So unless a miracle happens, please expect me to not make any new creations for a while until I get my new system up and running. i am hoping within about 3-4 months I will have what I need to grab a more stable music creation environment.

Until then you have my votes and my current tracks will be entered into following contests. That is about all I can do at this moment.

Use the following ’.ics’ iCal URL to set up a Multi-Date KB Countdown Widget for your WordPress Blog to keep your visitors aware of the upcoming Quarter, Semi and Finals.
URL: Right-Click >> Copy Link Location – then paste that shortcut into the KB Countdown Widgets’ URL field and modify the lower big textbox area to say what you want using the tags to display the events inside the public iCal from Google that I have made.
