Where do we begin … with a name like Hollie LA??? -A place she calls home - Los Angeles, CA! Being a proud Angeleno, she wanted to include her love for her hometown as part of her name. Since she was a little girl, music has been her passion and the only career that she ever wanted to pursue. The second she heard the beat and mad vocal melodies of Michael Jackson, Teena Marie, and Madonna; she knew music was her destiny. During her teenage years, songwriting came into play; lyrics and melodies seemed to effortlessly pour out of her, which she found was an amazing way to express herself.
Hollie LA made her recording debut with “Unlocked,” a 6 song EP that showcases some of her most memorable recordings. One thing Hollie doesn’t do is put herself in a box – “I create and write music that reflects who I am and not what everyone else is doing at the moment.” Together with music producer Kosta Lois, Hollie LA released the EP on Unlocked Records. Hollie’s lyrics and melodies at times are saucy -very tongue and cheek – just listen to “Domesticate It” and “Love Debt” for a taste! On the flip side, her ballads such as “Invisible Chains” and “Fame,” expose a more serious and vulnerable side.
Throughout Hollie LA’s musical journey, Film/TV and the independent/major music scenes have taken notice. Hollie LA has had her song, “Domesticate It” placed on NBC’s hit show, “The Office.” Additionally, her entire EP “Unlocked” has been featured on the following shows: Open House LA, 1st Look, Daily 10, Jersey Couture, Making Over America, and the video game -Our World. She has been nominated by the Los Angeles Music Awards for Pop/R&B Artist of the year. She was a finalist in a singing competition put on by LA’s own Hit Radio Station- 102.7 KIIS FM. Hollie LA continues to be the opening female act for many charity benefits and industry events throughout her hometown.
Hollie LA’s ultimate goal as an artist is to be able to reach music lovers worldwide through the power of song and to make a difference. She is quickly becoming a positive role model for the youth of today. Recently, Hollie LA’s latest single and music video, “POISON” is giving her fans a deeper insight into the true heart and emotion behind her songs. “If I can help just one person by seeing this video, then my mission is complete.”
