Built on authentic Rock ‘n’ Roll values and fueled by their passion to perform; Heaviside aspires to rise to prominence for their high octane productions as well as their songwriting prowess. Currently residing in Edmonton, Alberta this foursome calls the streets of small town Rocky Mountain House home; where high school friends Mitchell Reynaud & Kyle Green sought to create a standout act capable of channeling the energy & musicianship of some of Rock ‘n’ Roll’s greatest heroes. Relying heavily on their vintage record collection for inspiration, the duo (Kyle on bass & Mitchell taking up vocal & guitar duties) pulled elements of their favorite artists together to form a unified sound. The addition of Mitchell’s younger brother & drummer Spencer, and guitarist John Hermary infused a modern touch into the band’s dynamic, and thus emerged the Heaviside sound. Forming officially on December 10, 2006 the band’s chemistry was evident from the beginning; so much so that they took to the stage for their first ever show a mere ten days later. Since then Heaviside has garnered experience across central Alberta by performing wherever opportunity presents itself. The band expanded their repertoire by ceaselessly writing new material and learning covers, and have most recently released their debut album of all original material: ‘Pushin’ Forward Back’ on May 1st 2009. Within the album lies an array of anthems that encompass the various styles and tones of Heaviside. From the infectious swagger of ‘Eva’ to the piano driven ballad ‘Sometimes’, Heaviside is Rock ‘n’ Roll. Notable highlights include John’s electrifying guitar solos, Mitchell’s powerful high range, Spencer’s ballistic drumming and Kyle’s mammoth bass sound. ‘Pushin’ Forward Back’ is fraught with dynamic moments and memorable melodies and serves as the perfect springboard for the band to catapult into the independent music scene. Instantly recognized by anyone who has seen them for their riff laden songs and colossal performances (known to sometimes stretch up to three hours), Heaviside is unrelenting in their desire to make an impact with their music. Their aspiration to be heard is surpassed only by their passion to create music with one another. With plans to promote their new album throughout the coming year Heaviside will be making their way across Alberta in hopes of bringing their eclectic stage show to a venue near you.
