One hot summer afternoon in the mid 90's three girls (Robin, Mandy and Yosh) met in Huntington Beach, CA. Seattle grunge craze had chilled out by then, and revival of punk rock was prominent. Riot grrrl movement strongly flaunted it's existence. Courtney Love was respected as a poster child of female rebellion rendering through music as a medium. Yet those three girls kept their focus - be rebellious with integrity, sultry not sleazy, eloquent not whiney. And like most of the bands in this world, they had to go through some sour times. However, HALF carries on the legacy. Mandy and Yosh got back together in early 2010. Joined by former Dead X-tras bass player Jonny and long-time good friend Mike as a drummer, HALF is proud of its unique sound in which bottom heavy rhythm, subtlety and coquettishness all powerfully coexist. thebandhalf@gmail.com
