Thanks to ya’ll who are voting for The "Sick Da Wolves on ‘EM " Track. However, for those hip-hop heads or anyone who read my email, what do you guys feel about sampling and music production these days. That was the real purpose of the message. I really am interested on where you guys fall in the spectrum of possible responses on this one. If it got lost in the shuffle of BILLIONS OF FAN MAIL YA’LL GET ( ;) ), I understand. Ask me and I’ll postit on the blog or something.
Aiiight, firstly let me say I am far from a hater. If your goal is too make money at all costs, go ahead and get your money. There are plenty of more secure and high paying jobs out there than being a musician, TRUST ME! But when it comes to arts, its kinda whack to see talented folks fall to the wayside as far as their notariaty simply because the other dude knows more people. Whatever happened to just not being as talented as the other guy?
My challenge is to the listener/fans in this speech not the creators of music. Now I no that alot of fans don’t even care about what something sounds like or how it moves them on the inside. But that is the same reason that you should not cast your vote for anything based on music: as it is meaningless to you. That shit means something to someone else. Infact a reat deal to the artist, and though it is nearly impossible to get an honest reflection of popular reaction to artwork, don’t purposely screw up standings just to help a friend out. That shit is just whack, for you and your friend. There will reach a point where said friend will reach insurmountable plateau and they will keep pushing with everything until they have nothing left, all due to the false edification of folks like you. Are you prepared for that outcome?
Oddly, my rant has nothing to do with an ourstage competion. This came from me watching the Redbull Big Tune Battle on BET. I can’t BELIEVE my man junior (Illmind) lost to THAT dude. He had the better beat, of course in my opinion, but during playing beats he had the crowd, by a land slide – pure fact! but when the dust settled for voting, and people came back to the reason they were in attendance, being from Jersey didn’t work in my man’s favor. The home crowd always wins. It probably bothers me more than it bothers homes: he can just go back to making the next 50 Cent record and be good, lol.
I guess the question arises is this: Is there a better way to judge talent than with crowd participation? We should probably work harder to build sample voters before putting music towards competion. Or better still, should we as artists be competing towards anything. How about we all just make music the best that we can and hope that people like it as much as we do: no frills, no thrills, no excess pain-in-the-ass borderline brainwashing marketing tactics………….just the beat and the vibe.
The internet is the best place to seek the music you want and maybe the worse place to recieve music you don’t want. So again its back to music lovers to be responsible and sift through what they honestly don’t like and take care to search and find what they do like. The rhythm of life is out there: I challenge you to find it on your own!

Unfortunately it took place on a gloomy, rainy, Tuesday night. Who wants to go out then right? Apparently about 100 people!! Fat Shouts and RESPEK to everyone that shouwed up. If you couldn’t make it, don’t worry! The bar enjoyed the patronage we brought so much that we areback on Tuesday May 19. If you want to be on the producer panel, get at me. If you want a set in the open mic let me know. Apparently 8-off Agallah, the Don Bishop, or whatever the dude who made beats for Busta Rhymes, Remi Ma, The Diplomats and Big Pun is calling himself these days!
Bottom line this joint ought to be fresh so come on through to Cloud 9 Lounge in Downtown Hartford, CT on May 19!

Aiight! I’m back with the slick talkin! Recent events in my life have made me analyze what’s important (or what isnt, PFFFT!) and get back t my roots in writing clowny retorts to anicdotal stupidity I find on our sphere.Which brings me to the internet. Particularly networking sites (but not Ourstage…..YET?! I hope never).
So I have a Myspage right; like everyone in the known universe does. For the record, or anyone who cares, I’ve had myspace since like ’03: before it got WAAAAAAAY outta control.
Let me phase back though for a sec: does anyone remember myspace when you had to have a gmail account? And someone had to invite you? Back then it was ONLY for musicians (hint-hint Ourstage….I KID!!!:). I didn’t even know how to put muisic up on it then. But I did meet some cool people.
I kinda stopped using it, in like ‘04:no reason I was just lazy and stupid I guess. I got started again on it I’d say, oooooh …..‘05 when Kemistree really started making moves. And I was amazed to see how large it had gotten. Y LAS CHICAS!!!!!! WOW!!!!!! Sooo many chicks speaking loosely, which was entertqaining for a while, but……that’s for another blog.
So again in like ‘06 I got kinda busy and stopped using it. This time it was because of my time and a little bit of an annoyance with the service. It had changed from being a site for musicians to a site for just about anybody. Which is cool: please don’t think I’m stuck up, stooosh, or froo froo. It’s just how many chicks who look amazing in some clear heels (ya’ll know which ones I’m talkin about ;) REEEEALLY want me to message them on hotmail (PS – G-Whiz hates spams and bots, unless it comes in a can, or is a transformers).
So ‘08 comes around. And for those who may inquire, yes I do have a myspace, BUT I am lucky to check it about 2 or 3 times a year – I’m just sayin’! Now we have a bunch of dudes, musicians or no. Without there shirts on???? I mean if your a rapper, what’s hood about that. I understand to apoint. I’m no prude – sex sells, and we all like the ladies. HOWEVER, if you’re like 5’ 5" and weigh a buck 05 (105 lbs to those not hip to my slang), you might not be quiiiiiiite reaching the demographic you’re looking for. You ain’t 50 or LL so cut that shit out homie, lmao!
Especially if your sending an add request to me, or I hope any other dude for that manner. I had some young skinny brotha send me a request, you know….chest out and what not. He said he liked the beats. I messaged him back thanks…but I didn’t accept his request, lol.
Now I’m a grown ass man (and shame on all of ya’ll that didn’t wish me happy birthday on 3/31 :( I KIDDDDD!!!!!): How am I gonna look with some shirtless dude on my page talkin about “Just showin your page some love”????? NEGATIVE ON THAT ONE MISTER ZULU!
He wrote back with another message like a week later and asked me to accept his request. I guess this is where I may need ya’lls help. I told him “Naw I’m good, put some clothes on and maybe I’ll approve your request.” Now am I wronng for that? LOL! Really your opinion is cool in support or against.
All your feedback is appreciated, cause I really gotta get this e-ettiquette down to a science. I check my facebook and from time to time I catch a dude doing to much wanting to be my friend. Don’t get me wrong: I don’t care where you’re from, what you’re sexual persuasion is, what color your skin is, etc. – if you’re cool, we’re cool. But if you’re doing too much, I can’t get down with you.
In closing…..c’mon bruh! No I am not gonna be your friend! Why not?!?!? Cause my friends wear shirts when they talk to me, unless we’re playing hoops or something, LOL!

You can see ROC’s name at the bottom in WIIIIDDDLE EENEY WEENY TEENSEY WEEEENSY LITTLE LETTERS, Mixed in with Jay Z, Lil Wayne, Jae Millz, etc. No mention of G-Whiz on the beats AHEM!!!!!! but I ain’t mad lol. I’M CLOWNIN! Congrats to ROC for making the tape! It’s a GREAT LOOK for him! I’m just glad to have been a part! If you want a link to stream the mixtape for free just shoot me your email and I’ll send it to you. I’d put it up here but its coded, and ya’ll know how cpu illiterate I am, lol.
