Grim Drifter is made up of long-time friends that have a love of music. Especially the fast variety. The group has years of musical experience in live shows, as well as recording and selling merchandise. The synergy they've cultivated over the years is shown in every start, break and time change. Restructuring the old and integrating the new has given them a new but familiar sound. Tracy has been playing the guitar for the past twenty three years. He started his musical journey by learning "Smoke on the Water" and "Hall of the Mountain King". His influences are Deep Purple, Black Sabbath, Iron Maiden, The Misfits, and Slayer, to name a few. He had some local success in the 90’s with metal acts Sanctoria and Sub Zero, using the political issues of the times for his writing palette. Raw emotion drives his playing style which gives it the sound of controlled chaos. His love of the horror genre fuels his song writing today. Greg's interests range from the heaviest metal and punk to blues, jazz, techno, classical, and "world" music. A music geek since early childhood, he picked up his first guitar in 1986 and kicked things off by learning Led Zeppelin's "Black Dog" and "Living Loving Maid (She's Just a Woman)". From there it was all downhill into the dark and beautiful world of rock, metal and punk, with AC/DC, Black Sabbath, Ozzy Osbourne, Metallica, Megadeth, Slayer, The Misfits, Bad Religion, and numerous others charting his path of development as a musician. He shared the stage with Tracy and Jeff in Sanctoria and assisted with the band’s songwriting, drawing on past personal experience for his subject matter. Jeff has over twenty years of experience behind the drums. Starting off with a mish-mash of drums and cymbals cobbled together from various kits, he developed an aggressive and yet controlled style born out of the milieu of late 80s and early 90s speed and death metal. The influences of Slayer, Anthrax, and Metallica are immediately apparent to the listener, carried along on a wave of rapid-fire double bass. But his playing is much more than mere onslaught, with nuanced changes and an overall sense of timing that speaks to his natural feel for rhythm.
