Gold Standard is a 7 piece funk/rock/jam band hailing from Minneapolis, MN. Gold Standard formed in 2005 and has played countless gigs since. Highlights include 10klf (06,08), Harvest Fest, Project Earth and such venues as The Cabooze, MN Zoo Amphitheatre, Tipitina's Uptown, Bunkers, MMC, The Nomad and countless others. Recently GS has opened for some great national acts including Michael Franti and Spearhead, Jerry Garcia Band, Digital Underground, Karl Denson, Dirty Dozen Brass Band, The Lee Boys, Wookiefoot, Trampled by turtles and many other fine bands. Since their inception GS has released 3 albums, Swap Meat (06), Haircut (07), GS Xmas album(07) and are currently working on their next batch of tunes to record.
