Glynis was born out of a childhood want to make music that mattered. Glynis was born out of a childhood want to make music that mattered. Only After moving to Chicago from the cold north of Michigan where they crafted much of their debut record “All my parts are pretty soft” did the current incarnation of Glynis come together. Made of of five young men between the ages of 19-22, Glynis combines influences ranging from Sun Ra to Hum and bring them together in a melodic soup that is equal parts tension and release. With song titles like “Hot Goldman died without a lunch” “I still love JonBonet and her death was an accident” there seem to be some deep ideas expressed even without words. The self described “next Thin Lizzy” has spent the last three summers on the road playing from Chicago to Charleston South Carolina and back with well received shows in Brooklyn and Pittsburgh and an opening night slot at Mid-West Fest at Central Michigan University sharing the festival with acts such as Anathallo and Maps and Atlases. Glynis is currently gearing up to go back into the studio to record a follow-up ep to “All my parts” as well as playing bigger and bigger shows including opening for Kayo-Dot at Sub-T in Chicago in September 08. Glynis is currently talking with Smart Studios about a follow up to “all my parts are pretty soft”. Glynis is trying to make an appearance on Chi-ca-go-go.
