Welcome to the stage, Glorie!!!!! Born in the very small town of Prairie View Texas, Glorie Holloway, has captivated crowds with her mature sultry vocal ability since the age of 9. Her musical debut was in her 4th grade school play, where she demanded the crowds attention with her original piece “I Love My Locker”. Glorie’s mother immediately took notice of her daughter’s potential and proudly enrolled her in Ballet, Modern Dance, Tap and Jazz classes; she has also been classically trained in Piano and Opera as well. Glorie became the local “National Anthem Singer” and by High School she started a 4 member dance group called “Unique”. In 2004 at the age of 14 Glorie was scouted for recruitment by Sony Music Group with an offer of a record deal, however Glorie’s mother did not think the timing was right and declined to allow her daughter to accept the offer. Fast forward to 2008, Glorie entered a competition called “Chasing Down An Idol” it was a competition that allowed only 2 people from Texas to have an all expense paid trip to go to Kansas City to audition for American Idol (Idol didn’t go to Texas that year) she won her spot to Kansas City but unfortunately was unable to make the trip due to circumstances beyond her control; it was very disappointing for Glorie. In the same year Glorie heard about an audition for a girl group out of Nashville being developed, and once again she won her spot in the group of 5 girls, she moved to Dallas to record and film because it was going to be a reality show called “How To Make The Band” once again Glorie had experienced disappointment, the show was scrapped and the girls disbanned. Glorie is a survivor and very determined young woman. She has decided to trust God andtake fate into her own hands and is now launching her solo career. She describes her sound as very unique, and likes to use a fusion of R&B, Soul, Hip Hop, and Pop to explain her musical style. Drawing lyrics from her own life experiences Glorie says “When people listen to my music I want them to feel like anything is possible in life and there’s always a way out, there’s always hope”, “I have a story to tell” she says, “and I feel it can bless a lot of people; I’m also a fun person who likes to keep the music clean…You can be sassy and clean” she says with a small giggle. The creativity from this extraordinary Vocalist, Pianist Songwriter and Choreographer stems from musical influences such as Janet Jackson, Tina Turner, Aretha Franklin and Beyonce just to name a few. She will no doubt have just as long and strong a career once this phenomenal women is discovered. Welcome to the stage Glorie!!!!!
