An artist destined for success, Ms. GINA ROSE is one of the fastest growing entertainment entities in the Washington Metropolitan area. Gina Rose has hit the ground running creating her own buzz and has become a DC favorite and beyond. She charms audiences with a distinctive, soulful voice and a performance that ranges from classic to up tempo R&B, Hip-Hop/Soul with the subtle inclusion of a little Neo-Soul. She has performed on the National Television show ‘Showtime At The Apollo’, won two DMV Entertainment & Music Awards for 'Best Female R&B Artist' (2007 & 2008), opened for national recording artists Avant and Marsha Ambrosius (formerly of Floetry), inked two Int’l music-licensing deals under her publishing company DAS1 Music Publishing (BMI), was a finalist on SCION's After Dark Showcase, WKYS-FM’s Budweiser Talent Search, Black Planet Music's Heineken Members Choice, Fox 5's 'Mic at the Mall', and received an honorary mention from Billboard for her songwriting abilities on her song "Neva Shoulda", produced by Plaboy-Chi, whose credits include MTV,VH1,BET, and more. Gina Rose is the featured vocalist on the theme song for the online reality show '30-30 Careers', and her latest song, “Roulette”, was produced by former Def Jam Artist, Comp. Singing since the age of three, Gina Rose continuously showed her love of music by learning to play the violin and viola, performing in school plays, and becoming the musical director her senior year in high school for the Black History Program. Being a member of the Union Temple Youth Choir gave her the opportunity to perform at historic events such as The Million Family March and to sing background for national recording artists LL Cool J, Boyz II Men, Reba McIntire, Barry Manilow, Yolanda Adams, Kirk Franklin, and Edwin Hawkins. She also worked as a youth performer with the Friends of Carter Barron Foundation of the Performing Arts under the study of Playwright Gloria Hightower and the late director and head of Howard University’s Theatre Department, Mike Malone, doing musicals at the Carter Barron Amphitheatre, one of which starring the legendary Jennifer Holliday. While a member of Morgan State University's choir under the direction of the late Dr. Nathan Carter, she traveled to upstate New York where she sang background vocals in the popular opera, ‘Porgy & Bess’. As a solo artist, Gina Rose has performed in events around the metropolitan area including: The National Council of Negro Women’s National Black Family Reunion, Marvin Gaye Festival, Black LUV Fest, Adams Morgan Day, and Unifest, which brings over 400,000 people. She has graced the stage at hot spots in the metro area as well as The Washington Convention Center and Baltimore Convention Center where she shared the stage with Bad Boy recording artists Total at 'For Sisters Only'. She has opened for numerous networking parties, talent competitions, galas, launch parties, and fashion shows. She was a featured performer at Twyman Creative’s HIV/AIDS’s charities benefit at Montgomery College and ‘Girl Talk’ at Ballou Senior High School in S.E. Washington to teach young females empowerment. Gina Rose is also called upon by the FDA to perform for their fundraiser events every year. She has featured in New Jersey at the Key Club, Passaic County Community College for ‘Soul Fest’, and venues in NYC, such as the Chocolate Monkey and Remote Lounge. Her song “Dark 2 Light” is featured in the independent film ‘Misunderstandings’ for Washington, D.C. based Ideal PR Films, alongside national artists including Chico DeBarge, and Teedra Moses. The title track of her EP, “Never Felt This Way”, is also featured in the independent film ‘Affected: The AIDS Project' for BGM Inc., Films of Zion out of Los Angeles, California. In 2006 she engaged on ‘The Psi-Phi Tour’, which brought her performance to Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia, and North Carolina. Currently a Classical Voice Major working towards her Bachelors of Music, with songs playing in the US, UK, and Germany, being requested by artists to bless their tracks, traveling, writing songs for independent artists that perform them on BET's 106th & Park, while constantly building her catalog of material shows that this young lady is steadily making moves. Always acknowledging that her talent is God-given, she cites her influences as the ‘Divas of R&B Soul’: Chaka Khan, Whitney Houston, Patti Labelle, and Teena Marie. Gina Rose takes from the best and gives her fans nothing less.
