The Gentlemen At Arms is a group of four that came together two years ago to have fun and enhance their music abilities. The Gentlemen At Arms is a group of four that came together two years ago to have fun and enhance their music abilities. With influences from Foo Fighters, Red Hot Chili Peppers, and Arctic Monkeys, as well as many more the band has developed a sound they can call their own. The drummer, Ben Salman started drumming six years ago taking lessons at Skip’s Music. He played in Stairway to Stardom early on and found the rest of his band the following year. Today he reflects on how simple and inexperienced his playing was during that first band experience. The guitarist, Andrew Black started out with lessons at Skip’s Music as well but soon stopped to expand his skills on his own. The two of them came together to make music. The bassist, Robert SooHoo, was first encouraged to jam with Ben and Andrew just as he began playing. He took lessons from Shawn Linzey of local Tiny Monster Invasion for nine months while playing and learning with Ben and Andrew. The three of them knew Drew Scoggins from down the street, and invited him to try singing with them. Drew caught on quick and the band has stuck for two years. All four of them can say they are much better than when they started, much more experienced, and have had a lot of fun in the process. The band is at a point where they are ready to begin showing the result of their work and they love nothing more in the world than just rocking.
