When I was an artist I realized that it was easier to draw the devil than to draw an angel. As I write music I realize that its easier to complain than to appreciate. As I walk down the street and witness a beggar I realize that it is easier to toss a few quarters their way rather than to stop, sacrifice some time, and give some care to a lonely, down-trodden brother or sister. Why is it so much easier to be afraid than to be courageous? Why is it so hard to turn the other cheek? Is this short life worth the easy way out? At the end of the day, I want to look back at a life that was not easy and empty but hard and overflowing. When I write music, I sometimes try to encourage the hard way of life, and then tell how it will be worth it one day.
