2008 started off great for Gail, but ended even greater, with notification of receiving entry into the 51 Grammy Nominations. Although she was not a winning recipient of the Grammy Award; being entered for nomination speaks volumes of her latest CD entitled Pearls.
2008 also brought Gail’s vision of “JaZz in P!nk” to the San Diego Market Place stage. JaZz in P!nk, an all-star female ensemble of musical women in jazz, that projects talent, beauty, power & femininity as they embrace the stage! The recording artists are: Gail Jhonson-piano, Althea Rene-flute, Karen Briggs-violin, Mariea Antoinette, Darlene Moreno-guitar, Sundra Manning-keyboards, Lynn Keller-bass.
Gail was a featured artist for the 2009 Summer Storm Tour, with Norman Brown. Gail and Norman have worked together for several years. She has also toured, performed and recorded with: Morris Day, Kevin Toney, Pink, Vanessa Williams, Jermaine Jackson, Bobby Womack, Ray Parker Jr., Vesta, Howard Hewitt, Bobby Lyle, OC Smith, Paul Jackson Jr., Pamela Williams, Phil Perry, Althea Rene, Paul Taylor and many more.
JAZZY KEYBOARDS, VOL. 1 was released in July 2009 and is a great resource book for keyboardists, singers & musicians working on chord voicings and the jazz genre.

Community service is important to Gail. She recently performed at The Kingdom Day Parade for Dr. Martin Luther King Festival and The United Negro College Fund, where she featured her 15 year old daughter; vocalist/piano player Tamina.
The American Black Music Association has nominated Gail in 2 jazz categories for The Spotlight Awards 2010, a red carpet event in Los Angeles.
Currently, Gail Jhonson and her band "3 Piece Suit" is performing all over southern California and looking for exciting events in2010. Norman Brown's Christmas Tour with saxophonist Mindi Abair was great. SummerStorm will again be performing with guest artists: Phil Perry, Brenda Russell,and hosted by Norman Brown, featuring new music by Gail Jhonson!!
