Gabrielle Michelle is a 17 year old singer/songwriter born in Union City, Oklahoma. She now lives in Chester, Connecticut. Gabrielle’s singing career is short, but beginning to move rapidly. At 13, a home recording reached the hands of an independent record label in Massachusetts. She was told she had potential, but should seek vocal lessons to develop her natural voice and range. Gabrielle took vocal lessons under Rose Coppola of RVP Studios, West Haven, Connecticut for a little over a year. While there, she recorded a mini Christmas CD. In early 2006, Gabrielle decided she was ready to start recording and performing. With only a 3-song Christmas CD she started this MySpace music site to get some feedback. A few people started to listen to her Christmas songs that were posted. Then bands started leaving her very positive comments. One band led to another, then comments and guidance came from Grammy Award winner Alannah Myles (Black Velvet), 6-time Grammy Nominee Rob Hyman (Time After Time), Whiskey River Band, Kate Taylor, and others. So, in the summer of 2006, she recorded a 12-song cover demo at Trod Nossel Recording Studios in Wallingford to find her niche and sent them off for comments. The CD included songs by Elvis, Janis Joplin, Pink, Christina Aguilera, Kelly Clarkson, and Evanescence. The result – A voice all her own, you can call it unique and crisp with a blues/soul attitude. Gabrielle was selected as a semi-finalist in the WFSB-TV (CBS) “Connecticut: Show Us Your Talent” competition in November 2006. Her video aired on Wednesday, November 8, 2006. A portion can be seen on their website www.wfsb.com. Through the winter and spring she started writing lyrics for her own CD. And write she did, with over 60 written, she knew she could get at least 12 good songs. Yes she had a lot of lyrics, but could not find anyone willing to take her serious. Until…. last fall, when she began a co-writing project with Multi-Platinum writer Frankie Vinci. The first 4 songs “Hate U”, “Last To Know”, "A Good Me", and “Not Like U” are now posted on this site. The co-writing continues, with a goal for a completed CD by early spring 2009.
