About Gabe Barrera
I’m born in the U.S.A and raised in Merida Yucatan, Mexico. At the age of 17, I retuned to the states. I was brought up in an eclectic environment of music. From the Beatles to Michael Jackson, and Cuban Troba music to Spanish rock. I started playing the guitar when I was 12. I learned to play and sing my first song in a week. I formed a group “Trio”(romantic folkloric music). We serenated the town of Merida for a few years.
Later in the U.S., I formed my first rock band called, “Bankarrota”. I played guitar and sang in this band. I did most of the writing. It was a good training experience for me. I left this band in the late 90’s to pursue a solo career. I wrote a bunch of songs and found myself forming another band called “Triple Frown”. Triple Frown giged around L.A. and O.C. areas for a few years.
I recorded an album with Triple Frown and soon after our recording we went our separate ways.
Without loosing time, I started to look for new people to continue my music path. Today, Im working on a solo music career and perfoming just about anywhere in the greater L.A area.
My music is about life, love and personal experiences. I like to tell stories of places that I’ve been spiritualy and consciously. People can definitely relate to the songs and can learn something from them. I am here to sing my life and my story. Do you want to sing along?
