Vote for us in the November Converse and cakewalk contest!! FRITZPATRICK is a new project for us but our history as friends and as a band goes way back. The band has always consisted of 2 core members in Ryan Fritz (Lead Guitar/Vocals) and Patrick Forrestal (Bass guitar/backup vocals) From there we have pretty much had a revolving door of drummers throughout our history. How they met - Ryan a preacher´s son and Patrick a Chicago cop´s son both grew up on the Northside of Chicago where they attended Taft High School together. Their paths crossed when a mutual friend invited them to cut class and come over for a Jam session. From the first time they played together there was a natural chemistry and it showed in their music. Our first Band - They began writing music together and It wasn´t long before they decided to form a 4 piece band. They found a drummer and rhytmn guitarist practiced like hell and off they went. Called themselves Redd. Their influences as Redd included such bands as the Ramones, the Cure, the Whitestripes and others. They played the Chicago circuit covering local spots such as Silvie´s, The DD, the Blue note and many others. After 2 years of playing out their fan base really grew and they began to receive attention from labels. That´s right about the time life happened...disagreements amongst band members, meddling girlfriends, drug/alcohol problems & broken guitars equaled a broken band and a broken dream. Everything seemed to come crashing down in the same week. The split up was hard to accept but everyone went their seperate way. Ryan moved out to Kenosha to start over and figure out what to do with his life. Pat went back to his job as an on again off again union construction worker before winding up in voluntary rehab. Things were bad. New Beginnings - Pat recieves a call from Ryan while in rehab to share a new song he wrote called ´´If I was Young Again.´´ The song brought a flood of emotion out in Pat and the fire was rekindled. Enter the Manager - Ryan had an older brother named Danny who had no musical abilites to speak of but was great at marketing promoting and management. ´´He had always believed in us even when we didn´t believe in ourselves...as people.´´ We have never doubted ourselves as musicians. Danny approached us and said that if we could get ourselves back on the right track that he would help fund a new project and open up his home so Pat could move up from Chicago and we could get this done. We realized this was probally our last shot and decided we were going to go after it. 3 months in the studio (to put together a 5 song demo) 2 drummers later and we are getting ready to launch. Thanks to the internet and kick ass songs that crossover well like Lift Me up and I wanna be a Kennedy the band has already gained attention with upcoming features on IM radio and Creem Magazine MYSpace. We have sacrificed a lot to pursue our dreams. We believe in each other, We believe in our music and we believe in who we are. ´´YOU ONLY LIVE ONE DAMN LIFE´´ ´´IT´S NOT TOO LATE ´´
