Born in Gastonia N.C., music has been a large part of my life. I have played numerous venues, from churches to Nashville Fan Fairs, known as C.B. Wilson. The music business was hard at first, but came easy once people heard me sing. I have a gift for touching the very soul of people as I perform. A real good friend of mine, rest his soul, Charlie Rich, once told me, that I am a entertainer of entertainers. To me that is the greatest compliment a singer can receive in music. When I released my first two-song CD, produced by Wayne Hodge & Stargem Records in Nashville, the song A Man Who Loved Her So charted #2 and Home Again charted #6 on Country Song Roundup Magazine charts. Needless to say, I was on my way. In 1998, working with Gene Kennedy of Doorknob Records, my album, Loving a Lifetime was produced. I authored (and co-authored with my wife) seven of the ten songs on the album. I recorded Wayne Kemp's original, Don't Send Me No Angels, on the same album. Following the album's release, Wayne Kemp was inducted into Country Music's Hall of Fame. That same year, I released Merry Christmas Darling (originally authored by Big Al Downing as Happy Anniversary Darling). It was a big "seasonal" success. Touring came a lot easier after that. After doing Fan Fair 2000 in Nashville with Clay Davidson , Juice Newton and The Sons of the Desert, disaster struck. I lost my main sponsor. He went nuts over a woman and disappeared somewhere in Texas and I haven't heard from him since. I was about $10,000 in promotions away from charting a top-ten hit song. (Must be a good country song in there somewhere!) Overnight, my career in country music fell apart. I have continued writing great country songs, including a woman's revenge tune named Don't Give It Up (Just Live it Up), Ava Marie, Texas Ranger and many others that are not yet under contract with a publishing company. Though my career as a performer was abruptly halted, my dream has never ended! C. B. Wilson
