Due to New Jersey’s proximity to New York and Philadelphia, Freaky Jon P’s artistry is a blend of raw New York lyricism, with Philly’s distinct bravado. His influences are DMX, Lil Wayne, Kanye West, Lupe Fiasco, Juvenile, Nirvana, Gym Class Heroes, Jadakiss, and Method Man. He started his first performances on college campuses throughout New Jersey such as Rutgers New Brunswick, The College of New Jersey, Rider University, and Kean University. Freaky Jon P is currently seeking a major record/distribution deal to broaden his listening audience in order to build off the success from his mixtape hosted by Heavy Hitter DJ Wallah in October 2009. His live performances have been called “exciting, memorable, & on the brink of something big” by Drake's producer Omen during Freaky Jon P's performance for Hip Hop Unplugged at Crash Mansion which was judged by Angela Yee, Omen, Jay Rodriguez of MTV, and hosted by Amanda Diva on June 5, 2010. This year, Jon P has been on a New York/New Jersey tour at the following places: Coffee Cove in Newark hosted by DoItAll Dupré of Lordz of the Underground in January 2010, Hip Hop Unplugged at Crash Mansion NYC in June 2010, the Sofa Lounge in the Bronx hosted by DJ Statik Selektah in July 2010, and at the Hot 97 Showcase hosted by Monse in August 2010 . In September 2010, Wale's videographer shot Jon Ps most recent video in Washington D.C. The video garnered over 100,000 views in three days on the popular Hip-Hop site Onsmash just before it was shut down.
