For The Love Of Sloane
For the Love of Sloane is a four piece original rock band from the biggest little state in the union, Rhode Island. FTLOS is vocalist Elese Morrone, guitarist Stephen Moniz, and drummer Jay Jefferson. They formed mid 2007 and have quickly become a family as much as a band that is hoping to help breath life back into the Providence music scene. In late 2008, they completed their lineup with the addition of bassist Nicholas Magendantz.
Each individual band member brings their heart and soul, along with a wide range of influences, to the song writing process, which helps in the originality and diversity of their sound. The band takes their time writing each song, trying to avoid the usual songwriting formulas and clichés but still writing songs with catchy hooks, driving beats, and memorable melodies.
FTLOS released their first EP Bitter early 2008 and has since had a number of songs hold the number 1 position for weeks at a time on OurStage.com, including “Bitter”, “Ghost”, “Dig Deeper”, and “Drying Blue”. Their EP is available on iTunes or through order by contacting the band. They are currently working on their first full length so be sure to check back for updates.
They are also part of a CD compilation with other local bands, “The Scene: Recorded. Remixed. Reborn.” which was released on December 14, 2007. They will also be featured on the follow up CD compilation: “The Scene 2”, due out in late 2008.
For the Love of Sloane is a band to keep your eyes and ears open for in the very near future.
