Femcees

The Official Home of the Femcees is an organization that was established April 3, 2006 on Myspace. This organization is about promoting female emcees and rappers. FEMCEE OF THE MONTH Monthly, we honor a female emcee that has been grinding or receiving notable recognition, locally or nationwide, for their work. We’ve recognized everyone from Lauryn Hill to MC Lyte to Foxy Brown to Hedonis Da Amazon to Lil Mama to Mooka Jerz for their efforts. MIXTAPES The first mixtape to promote the organization and femcees in general was in the summer 2007 with ‘Official Home of the Femcees Mixtae Vol. 1.’ Volume 2 later followed in April 2008 to kick off the VH1 reality show, ‘Miss Rap Supreme,’ and was hosted by Missy Elliott. The third volume of the mixtape series is called ‘Leaders of the New School’ and it was recently released in October 2008. The past mixtape ‘Femcees of the Year’ which promotes and honors the female emcees that have had relevant music throughout the year, including those we’ve honored in the past as Femcee of the Month.
