Eye Talk is a recording and live performance group fronted by singer-songwriter Alan Clark. Alan is the lead vocalist and produces and performs various instruments in the studio. Alan’s brother, Bob Clark, provides songwriting, bass guitar and vocals to the mix. Eye Talk received their break in 1999 when Alan was touring in Northern California. On that tour, Alan met Dave Kent, who was, at the time David Sylvian’s engineer. Kent agreed to produce a studio version of the songs Eye Talk performed live at the time. This collection was a limited release called, “This Time.” Soon thereafter, Alan relocated to Arizona and joined Bob Clark to create a lighter version of the Eye Talk sound. In 2002, Dave Kent and Alan Clark produced the CD, “Phoenix,” with special guests Steve Jansen and Iva Davies. “Phoenix,” received critical acclaim and was a favorite among music critics around the world. In 2004, Alan and Bob returned to the studio and recorded their next effort, “Anything Is Possible,” and while recording this CD, met Jamie West-Oram and Rupert Greenhall from the 80s/MTV video pop band The Fixx. Jamie and Rupert agreed to contribute special guest performances on the track, “Blue Room.” Randy Tyler, a long time musical mentor for Eye Talk, contributed trumpet performances on two tracks on the CD while Steve Jansen contributed on drums to three of the tracks. “Anything Is Possible,” was released in the summer of 2005 and was featured in the Top 10 on radio in Sardinia, Italy. In 2007, Eye Talk recorded “Sun and Moon” which featured some of Nashville’s top session musicians and reached #4 in Australia’s indie charts. A pub and club tour followed in 2008 and 2009. During these performances, Alan and Bob tested new material in front of live audiences and their favorites are now on their next release “Far Away”. “Far Away” was released in early 2010 and features Alan and Bob on all of the studio instruments and vocals with the notable exception of the fabulous saxophone contributions by Jerry Donato on five songs and smooth back up vocals by Wes Hightower on Bob’s “Once More Chance”.
