- Upstage Magazine

“A soulful songbird… performing bluesy jazz tinged songs… a soulful musician who has a lot of heartfelt lyrics”
- Night & Day Entertainment Magazine

In venues such as the legendary Stone Pony, The Cutting Room, Six Flags theme parks, music festivals like Musikfest and popular clubs throughout New Jersey, New York City, New Orleans and beyond, many crowds and hearts have been won over by the unique power and sweet sound of the young talented singer and songsmith, Eryn Shewell.

Her unique sound is often compared to her musical influences: the bluesy sound of Susan Tedeschi; the sweet sensitivity of Jewel; smokiness of Norah Jones; the power of Etta James.

Born in Washington, DC, Eryn moved to the heart of New Jersey at the age of eight. Inspired by her musical family, she has been writing and crafting songs since early childhood. “It has always been my passion, my therapeutic outlet,” she says in her soft speaking voice that belies the power of her singing.

Eryn leads her own Eryn Shewell Band, formed in 2007, which showcases her original compositions with a few cover songs thrown in for fun. She has been lead singer for country band Sundance, pop/rock band Easily Amuzed, and was a member of well-known area band Jody Joseph & The Average Joes. She recently won over audiences in New Orleans singing with national touring band Soul Project. While in NOLA she recorded vocals on blues veteran Walter “Wolfman” Washington’s upcoming album. In her spare time she fronts New Jersey cover band Stronger Than Dirt.

Eryn pours her heart and soul into her music and puts it all out on display for anybody who will listen. Her songs are personal yet easily accessible. Addicting melodies and catchy hooks draw you into both the love and torment she has embraced during her young life. Her blues-rock songs like “Anymore” are full of attitude, songs like “Simple” are comforting, while “I Don’t Know” and “One More Melody” reflect the doubt of her younger years and “I Want You for Breakfast” is just plain old naughty fun.

Eryn is currently working with her band on her debut album and sessions are progressing quickly.
