Eric Lane is a 20-year-old aspiring producer/singer/songwriter. He is originally from Queens, New York but was raised in the small town of Manchester, New Jersey. Previously, he attended Five Towns College in Dix Hills, Long Island, New York majoring in Jazz/Commercial Music. After a year of studying music there he now attends Rowan University in Glassboro, New Jersey majoring in Communication Studies. Lane hopes to make his dream of being known globally for making amazingly creative music real one day. His music making began in 2005 when he was just 14 years old. He started making hip-hop instrumentals for local artists in his area, but as he wanted the opportunity to step forward from behind the scenes and make his own songs, he began practicing to better his voice as well as rapping and writing poetry. He also began refining what was then his mediocre ability to play piano, figuring it would help him in the process of making music. It wasn't long before he was using the sub par equipment he bought with one of the extremely low paychecks he received from his part-time job as a cashier in a grocery store to record his own music. He always wanted to stand out for the fact that he relies solely on himself for every aspect of creating his music. Along with his ability to sing, rap, and make his own beats, Lane also possesses the unique ability to beatbox, which he believes is the foundation of how he first became interested in creating music. Everyday he works on and improves every bit of the talent he possesses so that hopefully one day he can be recognized by a record label. Lane also believes that creativity and substance are two main aspects in his music that help him stand out. His songs vary from gloomy, dark expressions over ballad-sounding hip-hop beats, to uptempo dance tracks that can be heard on the radio or in a club. Eric Lane is the classic story of a small-town kid looking for his big break. He vows never to stop or quit until he has fulfilled his goals, and is living his ultimate dream.
