“NATURAL BORN STAR”

Let’s face it! We live in a day where the music industry is always looking for something or someone new. Its either looks, no voice, or voice and OH GOD! Not many come with the entire package. On the contrary newcomer “ELIJAH” is a welcomed new flavor to the industry.

This 23-year -old, Motown born, is a young rising star just waiting to explode. Having grown up in the church, the son of ministers, ELIJAH has been mesmerizing his audience since an early age. He started singing at the tender age of three and with practice; by age eight had mastered the guitar and learned the piano. As he recalls, “I’ve been preparing for this all my life” it is evident that practice sure did make perfect. To hear his voice you would automatically know that it was God given, his smooth raspy - buttery voice and melodic riffs is like candy to the ears, after hearing it you would truly come to realize that he is a natural born star but what do you expect? Music runs through his blood.

That’s why it comes as no surprise that “Roger Nelson” better known to us as “Prince” is his first cousin, But instead of waiting for the torch to be passed down to him ELIJAH decided to get it on his own, when asked why? he says "Sometimes in life there are things that can be handed to you ..and then sometimes in life there are things you just have to go after yourself, and this was one of those things." Having said that ELIJAH surely went about doing that. While preparing for solo stardom as a teen ELIJAH was granted the opportunity to go on the road to sing background for mutli-platinum artist: Barry Manilow and P. Diddy on “We Miss U (Biggie) tour. After that more doors just started opening up and his senior year in high school ELIJAH was offered a modeling contract to sign on to model for Armani. Wanting to broaden his herizons a little more ELIJAH started traveling back and forth to New York and from there he was afforded more oppurtunities leading to modeling offers from the likes of Hugo Boss, Saks, Sears. Wanting to stay true to the music flowing thru his blood ELIJAH got in the studio and in 2007 went on to release his first single "Let Go'' (produced by Carvin & Ivan -Lab Ratz). It went on to become a national favorite on urban radio and even earned him the #2 spot in Jamaica for 4 weeks as well as notoriety overseas. Although ELIJAH has been busy finishing up the final touches on his Debut album ELIJAH still travels often for different events and that has granted him the oppurtunity to share the stage and tour with artist such as Robin Thicke, J. Holiday, Kristina DeBarge, Avant, Faith Evans, Lloyd,LL Cool J, Carl Thomas, Kelis, Raheem DeVaughn, Ruben Studdard, Mario Winans, Fantasia, Michelle Williams of Destiny’s Child and Lyfe Jennings. So whether you call it “Fate”, “Destiny” or “a Calling,” the fact is ELIJAH definitely got NEXT!
