Elaine Faye is a talented up and coming singer/songwriter who recently relocated to Los Angeles from San Diego, CA. Elaine's music blends soul, pop, and a touch of jazz to create her own unique sound, though she is often likened to artist such as Corrine Bailey Rae, Colbie Caillat, and India Arie. Singing began at an early age in a musical home in southern California. However, it wasn't until the tragic loss of a close family member at age 14, after her family had relocated to Seattle Washington, that Elaine began writing music as an emotional outlet. Her writing continued and since then has become a way to provide a positive encouragement to others who have experienced a similar loss. Since she first began performing in early 2009, Elaine has had the opportunity to open for Capital recording artist Tristan Prettyman, been featured in several independent magazines such as Haute and Usoul as well as several popular music blogs like Pongid, Skope, and USA4Real. This past August she performed at the Ford Amphitheatre for an annual Koffeehouse charity event and just recently had the opportunity to perform on the Style Network reality series, Ruby. She also received one of three scholarships after competing in the Musicians Institute nationwide Full Ride competition out of 4000 entries and is currently a full time student. Her first LP was release in spring 2010 and she is now working on a new EP to be released early of 2011.
