Deondrey (Dre P.) began learning and studying the word of God at the age of 3years old, while attending his family church, Resurrection M.B.C. Deondrey (Dre P.) began learning and studying the word of God at the age of 3years old, while attending his family church, Resurrection M.B.C. He became a member of The Peterson Ensemble orchestrated by his grandmother, Marion Peterson and his uncle, Gary Peterson. By age 7, Deondrey accepted the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ as head of is life and was baptized.It was while Deondrey (Dre P.) attended Fitzgerald Elementary School in Detroit, that he became interested in music. He loved watching his uncles practice different vocal sounds and melodies for hours. It gave him the ability to mimic sounds and change them into his own. When his Uncle DeWayne saw that he had a natural gift, he began coaching him and he received vocal training. Once Deondrey (Dre P.) had gained enough confidence and courage to sing in front of strangers, he joined the Glee Club in the fifth grade. Singing became a huge part of his life. It wasn’t until his 10th birthday, that he was personally introduced to Hip Hop. He aattended “The ’84 Fresh Fest,” featuring various artists like, Run DMC, The Fat Boys and Whoodini. It was then that he realized his musical potential. Dre P. started beat boxing, break dancing, free styling, and writing various beats and hooks to self made songs. At the age 11, he decided that he would become an Artist. He would go to local malls like Fairlane in Dearborn and Northland in Southfield, and would walk around singing and rapping. His outgoing spirit and determination shined through and people would give positive feedback. By the age 15, Dre P. had graduated from Taft Jr. High School and was attending Highland Park High School. There, he joined the Highland Park Jazz Band and received a Certificate of Completion and a Letterman for his jacket. While downtown at the Gospel Fest of ’89, he met Toni Booker and the Booker Production. He was becoming more serious about his future and decided to join the production group. While he was apart of Toni Booker and The Booker Production, they were showcased on Bobby Jones’ Gospel Show. In ’97, Dre P.decided that his life was more important and that God has put him here for a reason. So with that he created Exotic Records. He worked with Marc (Nuke)of The Phantom Lords of Detroit, on his songs, “Make Sweet Love” and “Dedication” (Ground Zero). In early ’01 Dre P. met his now manager, Andre Williams, while having dinner at Red Lobster. While working for Health Call of Detroit, Sandy, owner, introduced him to Dean Cooper, a producer. Dre P. did a song with Big Herk and Jus’ Gat. He began working with Freeze at his studio in Detroit. He decided to brand his name “Napoleon”. He registered his DBA as Peterson’s & Assoc. Marketing & Sales. He also created “Napoleon’s Publishing” under this assume name as well. He met the promoter from Spice Promotions and performed “Make Sweet Love”, at the Auto Rama in ’05. He recorded and remixed Inner City Blues (Ground Zero Single). It was played on WGPR 88.1FM, Detroit radio station. Dre P. worked with Ted Beasley who created the original track for “Inner City Blues”. Dre Higgs of Circle Life Production later remixed it. The video for “Inner City Blues” was finished on New Year’s Eve of ’05, by Wel-Don Productions. It was aired on Channel 62 on the Alex Albrighton Talk Show (Detroit) in ’06. The Ground Zero album was completed the end of ’06. Nuke Terrain of Nuke Production, E, The Mad Scientist, Dre Higgs of Circle Life and others help complete this project. In the beginning of ’07, Dre P. ran into Lee Snipes (L. Dubb of Dubworx Ent.). He met with Lee and signed to a production contract with Dubworx Entertainment. They completed songs like, “I Didn’t Mean To Hurt U”, “Beautiful”, and “I Betcha”. Every week Dre P. would go to places like Club Sierra and Suite 100 to the open mic nights and test out each completed song. He would get positive responses, handshakes, and compliments from the patrons at the clubs or lounges. In the spring of ’10, Dre P. completed his 2nd album, “A Brighter Dre”, featuring hit songs like, “Only One” and “I Miss U”.
