Son to a Puertorican father and Spanish mother, he was bombarded by Latin American,Spanish, and North American music. At the age of 18 Don Pinguino migrated to New York City, where he started performing at different venues, such as The Nuyorican Poet´s Café, Apocalypse Lounge, and various universities. After New York, Don Pinguino moved to Spain, living and playing in venues all over Madrid, Barcelona, Burgos, and Sevilla. Don Pinguino now resides in Lausanne, Switzerland.
