About Dirk Robinson

Portrait of Dirk Robinson

Dirk with a goatee…

I finally connected with my deep passion for vocal music while living in Europe the past 11+ years. During that time I switched from baritone to tenor and began the serious pursuit of vocal study first with Douglas Rice/Hamburg and then Martina Prins/Munich-Amsterdam. I have sung in many professional productions in the Netherlands, Germany, Luxembourg and Spain ranging from solo quartet member in small old-music ensembles to opera chorus and tenor choral member in large concert oratorio and opera settings. I worked frequently with ‘Chorus Musikus Koln’ (Cologne, Germany) under the direction of Cristoph Spering in such beloved projects as the World Beethoven Festival 2005 (Bilbao) and the 2006 Schwetzingen Festspiele in Germany in the opera ‘Proserpin’. I now live in Culver City (West L.A.), California where I study voice full-time and am starting my voice-over career. I hope to begin doing auditions later in 2008 and 2009 for interesting musical projects. My next concert will consist primarily of French art song with selections from Debussy, du Parc, Hahn and Faure—watch this space for further details. I especially want to meet other singers, pianists and instrumentalists (of any genre) who are devoted to their craft, love music as much as I do and want to collaborate—get in contact with me! I also continue to seek out the best teachers and coaches who truly understand the complex mechanics of the human vocal process and know genuinely how to promote vocal health and efficiency in singing, regardless of genre. Have a great day and thanks for visiting! Dirk
