After turmoil with his former trio IdentitI, DaVoice would soon find himself as a solo artist again, but this time he was not singing. DAVOICE Mixtape Vol.1 was recorded late 2009 and released early 2010. The mixtape has since given a name to the (then) 18 year-old lyricist, who explains that he has never had a ghost writer, but would love to collaborate with numerous of other great reco(r)ding artist out there.
The album roster has 18 HOT, MATURE, ORIGINAL, and PURE UNDERGROUND tracks. There are samples from some of the greatest musicians. Vol. 2... Kloud 19, the sophomore mixtape from DaVoice aka Lyrik AndSoul, will be released online in early 2011. Recording sessions for the project began in Spring of 2010. DaVoice claims this project is only one-hundred times more appealing than the previous DAVOICE Mixtape Vol. 1. Singles from the roster includes "It's A (West Coast) Party," "Black & Yellow (Red & Blue too)," and "Old Time's Sake (2010)". "Slowly, Surely [I Walk Away From]," is one of the most popular tracks, it contains a sample of Jill Scott's "Slowly, Surely" and has been intriguing his audience since its release.
V2K19 is not the stereotypical Hip-Hop mixtape with mainstream instrumentals and vocals. The tracks that were sampled for the project, were only revamped due to relevance of DaVoice's moods and/or emotions. "Remember this is Vol. 2, so it was mandatory to deliver nothing less than quality, and more mature thoughts. From beginning to end I sought to make sure there weren't any fillers on the mixtape. I also managed to learn more about the Hip-Hop Culture, so I'm sure you'll hear progress in both lyrics and performance. It's almost the same vibe as DAVOICE Mixtape Vol. 1, with better production, quality, metaphors, and instrumentals."
