Hathaway's singing and radio career tragically ended from an automobile accident in 1996. The trauma of the accident eventually led to his diagnosis of Spasmodic Dysphonia in 2005. Though his voice is gone he continues to pursue his career as a songwriter and instrumentalist. While Country Music is D.C. Hathaway’s first love, he can dazzle you with a wide variety of original music genres that he has penned and performed through the years. Some of these songs will soon be heard on PBS, ESPN and The Lifetime Movie Network. His music is published through his own publishing company “D.C. Hathaway Music”. D.C. also volunteers on the praise and worship team at Eastlake Community Church in Chula Vista, CA where worship pastor Marcus Jones just released a brand new worship CD called "Following You" that D.C. had the pleasure of playing bass guitar on.
