Dawn is a seventeen year old singer/songwriter. She has been singing with the renowned Hamilton Children’s Choir for the past six years, participating in festivals and competitions in Canada and Europe. Dawn has enhanced her vocal training with private lessons, but the choir has been the mainstay of her musical life. Dawn is a seventeen year old singer/songwriter. She has been singing with the renowned Hamilton Children’s Choir for the past six years, participating in festivals and competitions in Canada and Europe. Dawn has enhanced her vocal training with private lessons, but the choir has been the mainstay of her musical life. In the summer of 08 Dawn started taking guitar lessons and immediately began writing her own songs. Dawn has always been an “old soul” and her songs, characterized by insightful, powerful lyrics combined with unique melodies and harmonies. Her experience as a songwriter has been prolific. To date she has over twelve songs to her credit. Her songs deal with diverse subject matter from the pressure of being a young women in “Alone Again” to the hard edge struggle of “The Other Side.” Currently Dawn is recording with Umar Syed and John Challinor of the Decibal Lab in Milton Ontario and plans to have a four song EP ready for the fall of 09. Dawn’s influences are Avril Lavigne, Alanis Morissette, Jason Mraz, Sarah McLachlan, The Beatles and John Mayer.
