About David Jenkins

Monroe, WA

My name is David Jenkins. I’m an artist. That is the truest description of who I am, no matter how many times I try to turn away from it, or deny it, this is who I am meant to be.
I was born in Medford, Oregon on March 1st, 1987. I grew up in a strong, conservative, Christian home in Monroe, WA. I began writing songs as soon as I could scribble, and started playing drums and guitar when I was 10. Singing came with the songs, and so did leading worship at my local church, of which I have been doing almost non-stop since I was 12. I started recording when I was 15. A friend of mine at church invited me over one night to record on his desktop studio, and I got me hooked. Since that time, I have self-produced three of my own all original albums, and worked on many other small projects for friends and clients under my business, Closet Productions, which I started officially in Spring, 2007. My latest and first full length project (Higher) started in 2006, and became my labor of love two days a week, while working full time the rest of the week, until fall of 2008. In that time I met and married my best friend and the love of my life, Jill. In September, 2009 we were blessed beyond measure with the arrival of Ellianah Mae Jenkins, and life has never been the same.
Now here we are, still living in Monroe, WA, and as an artist, searching for God to show me His plan. I have always believed in the call on my life to create sounds and notes along with words and melodies that move people to places they otherwise might miss out on. Weather in the Christian music realm, or the Mainstream, I just want to do what I was made to do: Create good music.
