Music can be the cry of the heart yearning for deeper things. My name is Pastor David Sanchez and I have been the pastor of a small town church for 20 years. I am also in a Band named "Salvage." The music on this page reflects songs that I have written over the last 30 years. There is no single genre of music represented here although many of the songs are heavily influenced by blues and rock. Whatever the musical genres are, the songs that I write have always been about the message more than the music. I lead worship in a church setting but most of my own songs are not blatant Christian worship. I like to write about the struggle of humanity and the faithfulness of God and even though some of my songs do not say "God" or "Jesus" in them, they are implied by the heart of the writer and the subject matter. My songs are also a reflection of my own thoughts and struggles not someone else and for that reason it has been hard for me over the years to sing some of them publicly. It took me a long time to realize that I am not unique in my struggles and that people need to see that others struggle with their humanity too and that there is a God who is there through every bit of those struggles to see us through. Jesus said. "The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they might have life, and have it to the full." John 10:10 I believe that truth with all of my heart and I desperately want to see all men lay hold of that great life that only comes through the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ. The struggle of our humanity is real but so is the victory for everyone one who believes on the Lord Jesus Christ. I pray that the message and the cry of my heart in song will lead you into that blessed place. David
