D & M consists of 3 young men ready to spread their music to the world! Danny Fornasa, Miles Mueller, and Matt Klahre formed the group in October of 2009, when they came together at Drexel University in the city of Philadelphia. Danny and Miles were roommates with a shared passion for making music. After one jam session with Matt they knew it was meant to be. They began writing together and developed music which ranged from acoustic sensitivity to passionate outbursts of rock and roll. Their songs reflect both the catchy aspects of classic pop, mixed with the emotional integrity of blues and rock and roll. Soon after their first practices, D & M began playing live shows, and made their radio debut on 91.7 WKDU Philadelphia only weeks after forming. This recording session led to the "Live in Philadelphia EP" containing their first 3 original songs which were performed acoustic at the station. The raw sound and live quality captured from the session gained them a huge following in the Philadelphia college scene. In the past few months D & M has kept hard at work in achieving their goals. They recorded their first studio EP, appropriately titled "The First EP" during two all-night sessions at MADDragon Studios in Philadelphia, PA. This six song EP was released in April of 2010 on the Philadelphia indie label Tofo Records. In addition to recording their debut EP at the onset of 2010, D & M played shows extensively all over Philadelphia and the Northeast. These shows ranged from average bars and clubs, to a luxurious chartered cruise around Manhattan, and legendary venues such as World Cafe Live and The Trocadero. Most notably in April 2010 they opened for N.E.R.D. and Kevin Rudolph at Drexel University's Spring Jam for hundreds of eager college students. On May 15th D & M played at the opening of the "Ni Una Mas" Exhibit at the Leonard Pearlstein Gallery in Philadelphia, PA, featuring artists such as Yoko Ono, Kiki Smith, and Nancy Spero. This performance was featured internationally on the Telemundo television station. May 2010 brought even more excitement to the band when they recorded their new single "The Eyepatch Song", and started giving it away free to loyal fans subscribing to their email list. D & M plays music that spans ages, cultures, and genres, and can be enjoyed by just about anyone. Their raw energy and passion at every live show is guaranteed to win over any audience at any venue, large or small. The simple yet full structure of their music makes it accessible at first listen, but continually pleasing to the ear months later. Despite their initial success, D & M never stops working and their ambition only propels them further to achieve their dreams and spread their music to the rest of the world. This is D & M. Listen. Enjoy. Listen again. Love.
