I am well known for my Native American flute playing in the New England area. I am Native Heart, which means I do not know my true heritage in terms of being Native American. I am walking a true path with a true heart. My gifted Native American name is “Dragonfly”. Gifted to me by 3 elders on 3 different occasions. I love dragonflys so I am honored by this gifted name and deeply touched by it. I make my living as a Nurse Practitioner. I have recently returned back to guitar and vocals and songwritting. I am loving it!! My flutes have a beautiful voice and speak well to what’s in my heart, but my own voice makes my feelings more accurate and clear to the listener. I love simple blues and jazz and have played like this with my flutes. My guitar adds to how I approach the blues and I think my voice is soulful. I am having a lot of fun writting about how I feel. I have cried a few times when singing a song that reflects my having lost at love. I love to start out with a few phrases of a song and then just start playing my guitar and see where it leads me. I play my flutes this way too. All of my Flute CDs are improvised at the recording studio. I never know what is going to happen until I start palying and so I just let my flute take me on a journey. It is a truely remarkable experience. I am now doing this with my guitar and vocals and I am finding the journey to be just as remarkable. I will be recording my new vocals/guitar CD at the end of May this year. It will be a while before this new CD will be available. It will have a mix of simple blues and light jazz. My goal is to make this CD as soulful and honest as possible. So stay tuned for more updates.
