Kentucky native Lane, a USMC combat veteran, is marking his claim in Texas country music by resurrecting both the untold stories of those passed and his own real life experiences. Lane's contrast of inner goodness vs. inner conflict in his songs like, "The Outlaw That Lives in Me" was inspired by a real life event that took place when he was a mere twelve years old. "Although, my family and I did not have a tragic loss of life like the story relates, I was, impacted early on, of how life can suddenly turn on you". It brought mixed emotional pain and bitterness that ultimately inspired Lane to write and sing about the conflicts that "live" within all of us but how we can overcome life’s realms. Lane formally was the front man of Southern Rock Band "Flathead Fillips". He went out on his own during the early summer of 2007. Lane's first solo performance consisted of his own material at the newly reopened Rattlesnake Inn in Florence, TX. This quickly spread to local jams then gigs within the Austin/Roundrock/Georgetown and overall Texas surrounding areas. Cullin plays solos but prefers a fiddle accompianment (usually Thomas McGregor of Austin TX -see ThomasMcGregor in Cullin's Top Friends in myspace) at most of his performances. Cullin will be seen rocking out with a full band for the larger venues. He states that the human condition, reaching the audience through his stories and messages and the heart pounding tunes work for him at live shows. He is enthralled at idea that he will be reaching a bigger audience in the Central Texas area and beyond within the New Year. His new release, "The Outlaw That Lives in Me" includes a good mix of that human condition. With songs like "Never forget the feeling" in which Cullin reflects the loss of his mother and "Hot Rod Mama" inspired by his youngest son tells the people that this Outlaw is truly WANTED and is definitely what the music industry as been lacking but is now getting a taste of. At present Cullin is busy writing material for his next album this winter and planning for a tour season from Spring/summer 2008. Watch for this new artist, as he gathers the ashes and gun slings his guitar with hit after hit into the mist of the Texas Music.
