Hi Cowboy Cool, I’ve just posted a song which I wrote, called “Free." "Free" received a Gold Auddy™ award on November 1, 2009 on uPlaya.com in recognition that the underlying patterns of this song are similar to songs that have become hits in the past. The lyrics advocate for hard work and prayer to counter adverse life experiences, charitable treatment of others, tolerance for differences of beliefs, optimism, self-defined self-worth, personal power and even the "holiness" that comes with focusing on one's positive values and actions. The values expressed in this song are timeless.
As you may know, I also posted a song called “Dumbing it Down” which I just entered in the Soft Rock contest for November 2009. It highlights the songwriter’s need for authenticity and integrity in song composition, an ideal difficult to achieve the more commercial the interests of the songwriter. The song implies that if songwriters stick to writing about what they know from life’s experiences and try to be a positive force in the world, they may experience less personal stress, despite possible income loss.
I hope you love both! Much love and success to you and many thanks for your help in supporting these songs chances of success. David Waldman
