SHAWN ALLEN Born the son of a coalminer (the inspiration for one of his songs), Country singer/songwriter Shawn Allen grew up in West Virginia. Shawn has the kind of background every record label dreams of having in an artist. With a life chock full of country experiences, Shawn has spent a significant portion of his life making his past moments into a future of stand-out Country songs sure to last for generations to come. Shawn Allen began performing at the tiny age of 5 years old, winning competitions at school and in his community. Brought up in a Christian home, Shawn soon began traveling around the United States competing in the Contemporary Christian Music Competition until his late teens. In high school, he was voted “Most Talented,” and won the lead role in his senior play. College life brought Shawn experiences with bands, musicals, and tour after tour as a lead singer for his school’s collegiate choir. After touring with various bands post-college, Shawn got a big break—he was approached to sign on with an independent record label in New York. However, fate had other plans, and Shawn made his way to Nashville instead. Since he began to visit Nashville, Shawn has made a big splash with industry professionals. Shawn has been working with top-notch Nashville songwriters including Don Goodman (“Ring on Her Finger” recorded by Reba McIntire, “Angel Among Us” recorded by Alabama, “ ‘Ol Red” recorded by Blake Shelton and many more hits), Larry Wayne Clark (who wrote the Chris Young single “Drinkin’ Me Lonely”), Jon Conley, Julie Burton, and many other accomplished songwriters in Nashville. His songwriting sessions led to a production agreement with Chuck Howard, one of Nashville’s most well-known and respected producers. Shawn has a distinctive sound; gritty and earthy, like a young Gordon Lightfoot. He has performed all over the nation, including the famous Roxy and Whiskey on Sunset Boulevard in Los Angeles, California. Shawn is currently getting ready to go on tour with his band. Find out if Shawn and his band will be in your city soon!
