Counterfeit Society was started in the summer of 2008 by bassist/vocalist James Gisondi and guitarist/vocalist Jon-Anthony Maselli. James and Jon-Anthony have been writing music together for a while, and neither of them had ever been in a serious project in which they were the chief songwriters. They then asked drummer Christian Gisondi, James' brother, to join their project and this is when they got serious. Counterfeit Society was started in the summer of 2008 by bassist/vocalist James Gisondi and guitarist/vocalist Jon-Anthony Maselli. James and Jon-Anthony have been writing music together for a while, and neither of them had ever been in a serious project in which they were the chief songwriters. They then asked drummer Christian Gisondi, James' brother, to join their project and this is when they got serious. For a few months they had been writing and writing until they put out a rough 9-song EP in December 2008 entitled "What We Did For A Klondike Bar" and have been promoting themselves since then. In March 2009, they enlisted the help of guitarist Vinny Tiberi to add a little more depth to their songs and are enthusiastic about where their project is headed. They will be in the studio in May/June of 2009 to re-record their old tracks and to record some new tracks as well, and this time around it will sound much better.
