After living in Nashville area for 10 yrs. and playing in bands around
town( local bands such as Gil Gann and the Manns, Dave Jennette band,
and Victoria Hammill and Zeta 5 etc.)Markus Rodriguez wanted to put together a band that played a mix of styles that he grew up with in Oakland, CA...Which really was as diverse musically as is the population of the Bay Area. He also wanted an opportunity to get back to the Latin Rock style that Santana had a big hand in creating, but by no means was the only musicians that defined "The Sound". ( Some band names were Malo, Sapo, Azteca). Corazon’s influences range from John Lee Hooker to Santana, Sly Stone, Jimi Hendrix, B.B. King, Ray Charles, Hank Williams, Jim Croce, Greatful Dead, and all
the great percussionists from the Bay Area.
Corazon is a six piece band that has been together now for 3 yrs and we have become the band that Markus envisioned. We have a great self-titled CD of originals recorded, and a very well rehearsed live show that is packed full of Energy and Heart. We are looking forward to getting back in the studio as soon as possible and spreading the word of Corazon. We look forward to seeing everyone ,and turning them on to CORAZON “Music from the Heart”.
