Cora Lajoie is a Canadian songstress exploring the place where Nature, Music, and Spirit unite. Born in a place called Sarnia with a Pisces sun and Virgo moon, her childhood experience was influenced by the culture of Canada’s pollutant chemical valley and the deep flow of the blue St. Clair River. Her songs are guided by her soothing alto voice, that leads the Music across vast landscapes of powerful melodies, subtly profound lyrics, uniquely rhythmic guitar, sparkling piano, and lush harmonies layered intuitively. Presently 24 years old, she has 3 albums of Music and a heart full of dreams. Her first album, Falling (2006), is an intimate acoustic look into the soul of falling in and through romantic love, as well as the inner struggles of growing up. Her second album, Mindshift (2008), reflects living in dreary Scotland for a year, where her mind shifted from personal concerns to environmental responsibility and understanding life from a greater perspective. Her third album, Flourish (2009), is inspired by traveling the west coast of Canada, beginning to develop a spiritual relationship with the natural kingdom, and unfolding the tender petals of her innermost feelings and being. Music is a mysterious magical power that Cora honours, and her live performances come with an energetic healing intent for those who are open. She shares intimate details of her experience as they relate to the songs, sings from a deep emotional place, and uses looping to create the harmonic palette she hears around her songs. She is in the process of creating visual arts to bring the live performances to a new dimension. Cora is here to share her heartsongs with you.
