He comes from a close knit Christian family in which all members are very talented in sports and music rather instrumental or vocal. His passion for music has awarded him many accolades. He has always been inspired by Gospel music, and has incorporated the soul stirring sound of gospel into his unique soulful and passionate sound of R&B. At age 11, he performed on stage for the first time at the Black HaromBi Festival in Springfield, MA. This annual festival hosted talented groups from around the United States.
In 1993, he and some friends formed 91 North, an R & B group which performances started mostly at small venues and night clubs. Their performances escalated to venues which included the CHAZE & Wilson's, Sweet Waters, and Honey Suckle West where they shared the stage with major artists like Chaka Kun, Brian McKnight and Tina Marie. They also opened for the R & B group Men at Large. 91 North first big break came when they performed at a Sony festival and a Sony Representative, John Greene saw and loved their act and became their manager. The group signed a record deal with Sony Records.
In 2000, frustrated with the industry and the way his life was spiraling out control, he decided to move south to Atlanta, Georgia for a new start. His life changed for the better. He has always been a person to believe that God has a plan and purpose for his life. He encourages others to stand on the promises of God.
