Throughout their time together in high school, this duo jammed, collaborated, learned, and even taught other musicians that would join them on occasions. However, when Kyle graduated, a whole two years before Thomas, they began to grow apart musically and only ever played music together on a few occasions at their local church. Thomas went on to play a few solo acoustic shows, and Kyle went on to jam with as many other musicians as possible, playing any instrument he could, up until playing guitar in his own band. That band was active for almost a year before splitting up, and when Thomas attended their last show, it was like everything was pieced back together and they picked up where they left off. With this newly developed way of piecing together and writing music, the duo began to record Fuse, their first CD, that would feature only the two of them on all instruments and writing all the melodies and lyrics to this rock/funk fusion music. The music of Cirque De Funk includes everything from old-school funk to melodic guitar funk backed with bass lines that are punchy and rhythmic, all while the earthiness of the acoustic drums are stuck on simple techno and rock beats. This mashing together of styles and genres has created a sound that is apart from what you hear from your mainstream rock genre. With the release of the Cirqueʼs first CD, they are only left with being able to share their music with the world.
