Christina Mendez is a one woman marketing machine that learned how to create her own website and
used MySpace to network with various designers and other models, as well as learned about castings,
fashion shows and any opportunity to pursue her modeling dreams.
During this time Christina appeared in various television fashion segments including the Rachel Ray
Show, Fox News, and Univision Morning news. She's been a featured model for a few up and coming
designers, and one of her goals came to fruition when she was cast as a model for Baby Phat,
Rocawear, Apple Bottoms and Dereon. Christina’s leading accomplishment to date was being selected
to appear in the one hour special BET's Rip the Runway Model Search.
Model Search was a behind the scenes show featuring four models out of hundreds that auditioned for
the Rip the Runway fashion show. Christina was the only plus model or as they named her "Grand
Curvy Diva" of the four. The cameras followed them from the audition process, to makeovers and
through a day in their life, a segment where Ms. Mendez told her heartfelt story of taking time off from
work to home school her son Damian who was diagnosed with Autism at age two. The next stop for this
plus model was to Rip the Runway as she opened the “Size Sexy” segment of the show wearing a
dress from Qristyl Frazier Designs.
Ms. Mendez is signed with Model Service Agency’s Goddess division in NY and Click in Atlanta and
serves as her own agent for work on television, and other creative projects.
Christina’s combination of girl next door looks, warm spirit, business sense, faith, and determination
have helped make her initial year of plus modeling a true blessing.
