Chip Christy is the 22-year-old front man for a five-piece band that consists of drums, bass guitar, keys, and a rapper. The group’s sound is a viciously smooth blend of Pop, Rock, and Hip-Hop. And, the combination results in infectiously catchy hooks over powerful upbeat music. Chip Christy’s latest album, entitled “Empires Fall”, was recorded in the summer/fall of 2007. To create the album, Chip joined forces with band mate/producer Connor Smith. Connor Smith is a 20-year-old college graduate with a B.A. in music from the University of Dayton. His influence has injected “Empires Fall” with an epic, intelligent, and forceful sound. Chip’s previous album, entitled “Moods Unwind”, was released in March of 2007. The album’s single, “Suburbia’s Hip-Hop King ft. J-Davis”, has received regular airplay on numerous radio stations. However, its most significant airplay took place on “The New 97.5”, a top-forty station heard throughout mid-Michigan. The single was the first song by an independent artist to ever make the station’s nightly countdown. And, it remained in the countdown for over four weeks. The station’s afternoon DJ, Dave Beagle, said the following in regards to the single, “There is no doubt that this is good music, it could easily be played on a national level.”Due to the success of “Moods Unwind”, Chip and Connor were able to record “Empires Fall” at Glenn Brown Productions, a world-class studio located in East Lansing, Michigan. With Glenn Brown’s guidance and assistance, Chip and Connor were able to create their best work to date. Chip Christy and Connor Smith expect great things from “Empires Fall”. They fully expect it to receive regular radio airplay across the United States. And, they expect album sales to be limitless.
