Champion Beans is the love child of Welsh lothario Leigh Adams. Conceived as an outlet for his Welsh electronica disco, Leigh finally gave birth to Champion Beans in late 2007 after almost 10 years in labour.
Leigh grew up on the North Wales coast - the hip and happening resort of Rhos-On-Sea. In between visiting the local tea-shops and eating bread rolls, Leigh spent many an hour teaching himself the guitar. Jamming with like-minded friends, several bands came and went, and he always pocketed some vital inspiration from these experiences. He eventually managed to get his hands on a 4 track recorder, which inevitably led the way to a drum machine, computer, sequencer and keyboard. When his Dad gave him 'Big Yellow' - a 1970's Fender Strat - his desire to make music multiplied as much as his waistline
Leigh moved from city to city until finally settling in the Big Smoke. His taste in music changed as often as his address, and some of his influences now range from Fila Brazilia to Bill Conti, Parliament to Terry Callier, The Stone Roses to Crazy P, Alice in Chains to Daft Punk..
He continued to write tunes that would only ever be heard his own ears, but as he grew more confident in the music, he finally allowed a select few to hear his creations - the reaction was brilliant
So, in late 2007, he squeezed out a few tracks, and Champion Beans took their first breath of fresh air. It smelt good..
