There has been a lot of complaining about 1> folks entering in the wrong channels and 2> too many entries per channel and 3> the same songs hogging space in the Top 10 month after month. I’ve campaigned to get more channels and I flag & have been flagged. But, I do not hog space in a channel & keep submitting my entries after they’ve placed in the Top 10 because it is not fair to the other deserving artists in that channel. I am blessed to be a prolific songwriter with many songs to test in different channels and I am constantly creating new music. Most of which I’ve yet to post for contractual reasons. Still, I think that once an artist has finished at No. 1 or even in the Top 10 in a Channel they should have the decency to pull that song from competition the next month in order to make room for another deserving artist. Obviously this is not a policy here as I see the same songs winning month after month, some with thousands of plays. If you haven’t won that $5000 by now I don’t think you are gonna get it with that song. I wish more of us had the courage & integrity to police ourselves. I try to be as fair as possible when judging even if it means voting myself down against a better entry. But it irks me when voting in a channel where you don’t realize that this same good song has been sitting here month after month sometimes for over a year in the Top 10 and I keep reinforcing that by voting it high again. So I’ve started checking the archives to see who actually placed in the Top 10 previously with the same song in the same channel. Now I vote for the best of the newest original material &/or those that deserve a break because their entry fits the channel and it is a great/unique song & performance. I am hoping that others will start to be more considerate in the future. There is room enuf at the Top for all who deserve to be there. Let’s stop holding each other back by being selfish. Once your song has finished in the Top 10… especially winning No. 1 in the Channel realize that you have the bragging rights from now on that you’ve moved up so freeze that score and plz be considerate enuf to move over and move on. There are other sites and other contests. Get a life! Your dreams will not be fulfilled here. In fact competing Fans will soon become enemies. Don’t just talk the talk but walk the walk and “Do Right Unto Others”. Just my dime’s worth. Plz feel free to share your thoughts on the matter. CC

Since my previous blog although tactful is obviously too long for some of you young bloods to read. Let me put this a bit more to the point in as rude a fashion as some of you are so rudely filling my & other artists inboxes & comment section (reserved for productive reviews) with requests to vote in the T-Pain Everybody Else Contest. Please do not come to my site or fill my inbox with self centered requests to SPEND my time judging in your genre for your music yet you don’t even bother to listen nor fav nor vote for mine nor join my Fan Club! My time is just as valuable as yours. If you don’t like my music enuf to support me… How can you be my FRIEND? Further… WHY should I invest my time supporting yours? Whew! That felt good. But rude. I’m sorry. Look I am already signed. I don’t have to be here or explain but I want to help. So – FYI = Record Labels & hiring venues look for artists with a large emailable FAN Lists not Friends. That’s why OurStage provides us with Fan Contest Banners. Hence, my point is… put a “Fan Clubs I’m in” box on your page and show some support to other artists if you expect them to invest their time supporting you. Give respect to EARN respect. I Love You and I want to see you succeed. That is why I took the time to post this Blog. Someone needed to say it out loud. So plz do not be offended. When you join my Fan Club or Fav my music I take the time to go to your page, read your profile, listen to your music & Fav the best. Then I join your Fan Club and visit your genre to vote. If I run into a song while judging that really moves me I join the artists Fan Club to demonstrate my support. Learn to hep others in the process you really help yourselves. Beloved, this is a wakeup call. There is a reason OurStage provides Fan Contest Banners to put on other sites to build your Fan Base and bring others to OurStage.com. Unfortunately few music websites want other folks banners on their pages. Hence, we have a dilemma. Stop missing the opportunities right beneath your nose. It is difficult to be my friend if you don’t like my music. However, I can love your music without ever knowing you.

So… if you’ve found your way to my profile & this blog.. I welcome you to take a little stroll around exploring my heart, mind & soul music.. Thank you for reaching out to me, hopefully as Fans, obliging me to reciprocate. I love the process because I discover such beautiful music & gifted wonders of spirit. While I am honored to become your friend what we as Artists here truly need are FANS. I just signed with Moiko Records and the first thing any Industry Pro or venue wants to know is how large is your Fan Base? What Record Labels look for are large FAN Clubs & great reviews. I’ve noticed since the T-Pain Challenge there are far too many (selfish) young brotherz soliciting votes with empty hands, showing no respect on our Public spaces reserved for Reviews. You’ve got to take the time to give Love in order to get it back.

But be careful what you ask for because I won’t lie. I do not appreciate Country Rock, Acoustic, Pop, Hip Hop Rap in the R&B Channel. Nor extreme non-melodious noise pollution, nor extreme profanity nor glorified gangsta mentality nor the degradation of women & people that work honestly for a living. I’m no prude. I am just a weary professional Social Worker and loving Earth Mother tired of the oppressed human condition. I guess you need to ask yourself "Who & How many do I want to really Listen & HEAR my message?

Think about it. If you rarely use profanity to drive home your point more people will listen and your message will be more effective. Use your prolific voices to make a positive difference & be Blessed! I want my kidz to overcome not wallow in squalor & counter productive self destructive behavior. But you all should support each other despite the overwhelming competition & outrageous number of entries per appropriate channels. Spend some time voting in other channels. Broaden your perspectives. Plz check out my new entry in Spoken Word “Rich Man’s Nightmare”. We are not so much different. We just have different ways of doing things. I am too old to make a fool of myself by going backwards. However, you youngsters can effectively & proudly step up and grow forward.

As you can tell, I support far more Artists than support me. I also buy a lot of OurStage Artists music & CD’s. I fight for the rights of all artists on this site. So I’m not just posting this to gain more Fans for myself but to encourage each of you to employ a little diplomacy & practice “FAMILY” protocal on ANY fellow Artists site that you solicit for support. Try channeling your Friendship Requests to Fan Club mailing lists. Then send only inspiring, enlightening or important msgs. Most of us get far too much email as it is.

Light recognizes Right & Love is born. I only settle for being phony Friends if I don’t like/respect your music. Otherwise, I take the time to visit your profile READ while listening to your music. I search for the beauty & meaning in your work. If I like it then I fav it and proceed to join your Fan Club. Then pray you will feel the same about mine. Then when I vote I know who & why I rank you at the Top. If you can spread the Word.. Let the Young Guns know that here on OurStage as in Heaven… “When praises go up… Blessings come down”. More importantly than getting there is HOW you got there. Be Blessed,
